Anastasija Sevastova vs Zeynep Sonmez prediction

Anastasija Sevastova got back to winning ways in the first-round after her early loss in Rome but was still forced to come from a set down against Yasmine Kabbaj. Sevastova won 5-7 6-4 7-5 against her opponent who is ranked 810 in the world, in a match she could have easily lost, having given away 18 break points in total.

Zeynep Sonmez dumped second seed Lucia Bronzetti out of the competition, thrashing the Italian 6-2 6-1. Bronzetti played dreadfully, winning just 30% of points on her first serve, but the 23-year-old was always in control and took all six of her break point opportunities. That will be a massive confidence boost for the Turk after failing to make a breakthrough at her last two events in Parma and Rome.

Sevastova is continuing her comeback after spending so much time out of the game but made plenty of errors in her first-round match which are likely to be capitalised on by Sonmez. We predict Sonmez will continue the momentum and make it through.
