Amanda Anisimova vs Iga Swiatek prediction

Iga Swiatek’s push for back-to-back Grand Slam titles gathered momentum as she put in-form Ekaterina Alexandrova to the sword. 

The second seed needed just over an hour to thump the Russian 13th seed 6-3 6-1 and clinch her 19th win from her last 20 matches.

The Pole will now face Amanda Anisimova in a repeat of July's Wimbledon final. 

The American was brutally beaten 6-0 6-0 in her maiden major final but has shown signs of recovering from that mental low with some sharp tennis in New York.

The eighth seed saw off Beatriz Haddad Mai 6-0 6-3  and will hope to set the record straight with a much-improved showing in her second ever meeting with Swiatek. 

In these conditions, Anisimova should at least win some games this time around, but with Swiatek tidying up her game in the last round, it’s hard to see the American pulling off the shock.
