Alycia Parks competed in Parma last time out, losing in the second-round. Her results have been largely uninspiring in 2026, other than a run to the quarter-finals in Ostrava. The American is ranked just inside the top 80 of the world rankings.
She faces Moyuka Uchijima. The Japanese player is outside the 100 in the world, but she did win a title on the ITF circuit earlier this month. Uchijima defeated Jessika Ponchet in the last four and then came from a set down to beat Tereza Valentova in Saint-Malo. That was her second lower-level event victory of the season, but she has struggled to make that step up on the WTA Tour, with first-round defeats in Madrid, Doha and Dubai.
Uchijima does seem to finally have a bit of momentum on her side after a tough run, and this is a fantastic opportunity for her to win a tour-level match against a player who has never truly excelled on clay.
