Alycia Parks made it three straight wins, including qualifying, as she defeated Noma Akugue Noha in straight sets. Parks conceded just the one break point and was always in control as she wrapped up a 6-4 6-2 win after one hour and 16 minutes.
She now faces Mirra Andreeva. The Russian continued her winning run after a victory over defending champion Jelena Ostapenko in the first-round. This was a tough match for Andreeva, as she lost the first set despite serving for it at 5-4. She levelled the match up but looked set for an early exit as Ostapenko went 4-1 up in the decider. Nevertheless, she won the last five games to seal a hard-fought 5-7 6-2 6-4 win. Andreeva won the Linz Open last week, her second title of the season, and has now won her last five matches.
They have played once before, with Andreeva thrashing Parks 6-0 6-1 at the US Open last year. She is the clear favourite once again.
