Alexander Zverev vs Taylor Fritz prediction
Alexander Zverev produced a poor display on day two as he lost to Alex De Minaur in straight sets. The German made a terrible start and never really recovered, as he struggled with the low bounce and slow speed court conditions, losing 6-1 6-4. The three-time Grand Slam finalist spoke of his back struggles in the post-match press conference, but he has still been selected to compete in the final match of the competition.
Taylor Fritz will be his opponent. The American performed brilliantly on day two to defeat Carlos Alcaraz 6-3 6-2. This was his first win against the world number one, with Fritz dictating from the baseline and finding joy when approaching the net, as he went on to win 16 of a possible 20 net points.
Fritz leads the head-to-head 8-5 and has won the last five meetings, which includes at the Laver Cup last year. If the American puts in a similar performance as he managed against Alcaraz, he will prove too much for Zverev once again.
