Alexander Zverev vs Jannik Sinner prediction

Alexander Zverev reached his fourth straight Masters 1000 semi-final as he defeated Joao Fonseca in three sets. Zverev looked to be on course for a comfortable victory as he went a set and a break up. However, Fonseca broke back and took the match into a deciding set after winning the tiebreak. The world number three regrouped to win 7-5 6-7 (3) 6-3.

He now plays Jannik Sinner for a third time in 2026. Sinner became the fourth player since 1990 to win 20 consecutive Masters 1000 matches, joining Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. Sinner was never in trouble as he conceded just one break point on his way to a 6-3 6-4 victory over Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Sinner leads the head-to-head 8-4 and has won the last seven meetings. They have not faced each other on clay since 2022, which saw Zverev beat the Italian at this event in the quarter-finals. However, that occurred before Sinner’s ascent to the top of the men’s game.

Their last match in Miami, just a fortnight ago, was very competitive and Sinner had to produce an incredible serving display to record a straight sets win. Nevertheless, Zverev will likely find it tougher to impose himself against Sinner in these slower conditions, and the Italian also holds a mental edge over the three-time Grand Slam finalist, with so many victories over him in a short space of time.

Alexander Zverev vs Jannik Sinner tip: Jannik Sinner to win 2-0
