If Alexander Shevchenko’s previous clash with Daniel Elahi Galan is anything to go by, then this second meeting could well be a tight one.

The pair locked horns on the hardcourts of Miami last year with the Kazakh prevailing 6-7 7-6 7-5.

This time they will do battle on clay which could help the Colombian, Galan swing the match his way.

The South American is predominantly a clay-courter and has won two Challenger titles on the dirt this year. 

Neither has made much impact on the main tour so far in 2025 and they are similarly placed just outside the top 100.

Both are adept on this surface, so we expect another tight one with Galan perhaps a decent bet to triumph in the end given how his game is built for the dirt.
