Alexander Bublik vs Jan-Lennard Struff prediction
Alexander Bublik was close to advancing to a second final of the season in Geneva, but he lost a deciding set tiebreak to Learner Tien. Bublik enjoyed a brilliant run at Roland Garros last year, becoming the first male player from Kazakhstan to progress to the last eight of a Grand Slam, but his clay court results over the past few weeks have not been particularly inspiring, other than his most recent event.
Jan-Lennard Struff is his first-round opponent. The German has reached the fourth-round here on two occasions, in 2019 and 2021. However, he has lost 14 of his 22 matches this year and is yet to go beyond the second-round of a tournament in 2026.
Struff does have the upper hand in the head-to-head as he leads 4-3 and 2-0 on clay. He also comfortably beat Bublik in the second-round of Roland Garros two years ago. Struff does seem to produce better performances in a best of five format, but Bublik is a very clear favourite here.
