Alexander Bublik vs James Duckworth prediction
Alexander Bublik has enjoyed some highlights during this clay court season. He won three consecutive matches in Madrid, including an impressive three set win over Andrey Rublev, before falling to Jakub Mensik. He suffered an early exit in Rome but then dropped down to play the Turin Challenger and won the event, picking up his first ever clay title. He failed to keep up the momentum in Hamburg as he lost in the first-round.
James Duckworth also picked up a Challenger title as he won in San Luis Potosi. His other tournaments were rather underwhelming and he failed to make it out of qualifying for Geneva last week despite being the top seed.
They’ve not played on clay before but Bublik was victorious in their only previous match, in the third-round of the Miami Open back in 2021. The Kazakhstani can be prone to lapses in concentration and is unpredictable at times, but we expect Bublik to make it through.
