Alexander Bublik produced a magnificent comeback to get past Alex de Minaur and reach the third-round of the French Open for the first time in his career. The Kazakhstani was uncompetitive in the first two sets but came roaring back to win 2-6 2-6 6-4 6-3 6-2. De Minaur had won their three previous matches, but Bublik grew into the game, exploiting the Australian’s poor first serve percentage as the match wore on. He now plays Henrique Rocha in round 3.

Rocha, the Portuguese qualifier who is competing in his first ever Grand Slam, pulled off arguably the shock of the tournament as he came from two sets down to defeat Miami Open champion Jakub Mensik. The world number 200 won 2-6 1-6 6-4 6-3 6-4 and now has five consecutive wins including the qualifying stage.

Bublik can be unpredictable at times but he’s still decent value to make the fourth-round of a slam for the first time against such an inexperienced opponent.
