Alejandro Tabilo vs Arthur Cazaux prediction
It’s been a frustrating season for Alejandro Tabilo. The Chilean suffered a desperately disappointing South American clay court swing, losing at the earliest stage in all three events. He then lost early on at the Houston Open before an improved performance in Monte-Carlo as he reached the third-round after wins over Grand Slam champions Stan Wawrinka and Novak Djokovic. He then picked up a wrist injury which has disrupted the rest of his clay court preparations, with Tabilo not having featured on the tour since the beginning of April.
Arthur Cazaux is another player to have suffered from an injury, and hasn’t featured since failing to get past the qualifying stage for Indian Wells. He made his return with his only match on clay so far this season, losing to Hubert Hurkacz in the first-round of the Geneva Open. Cazaux has struggled to find any kind of rhythm this season, with his best finish being a quarter-final in a San Diego Challenger.
Both players have barely featured on the tour in the past two months and this could result in a rather cagey affair. Nevertheless, Tabilo gave a hint of what he can offer on clay with his performance against Djokovic in Monte-Carlo and we still expect him to win.
