Al Najma vs Al Ittihad prediction

Following their promotion to the top-flight of Saudi Arabian football last season, Al Najma have endured a tough start with two defeats from two to begin their campaign. On the opening day of the season, they suffered a 3-1 hammering at the hands of Al Qadsiah before then being beaten 2-1 by Al Royadh last weekend.

They now face an Al Ittihad side that, coached by Laurent Blanc, were excellent in winning the Saudi Pro League last season. They have started this campaign with a 5-2 victory over Al Okhdood and then a 4-2 win against Al Fateh. They did, though, suffer a 2-1 loss to Al Wahda in the group stages of the AFC Champions League the other day.

Al Ittihad have shown that they can score goals at will this season, but they do appear to be susceptible at the back. Against poor opposition, they should make it three wins from three but it should be fun for the neutral once again.

Al Najma vs Al Ittihad tip: Al Ittihad to win & over 2.5 goals
