Ajla Tomljanovic vs Jasmine Paolini prediction

Ajla Tomljanovic continued her upturn in form as she defeated Xinyu Wang in straight sets to advance to the next stage of Indian Wells. The Australian was not broken on serve, as she saved all eight break point opportunities on offer. Tomljanovic broke three times in the second set as she wrapped up a 6-3 6-1 win after just one hour and eight minutes. She reached the quarter-finals of the ATX Open last week and now has four wins from her last five.

Jasmine Paolini, the seventh seed, is her next opponent. The Italian required three sets to get past Anastasia Potapova. She trailed by a break early on but then turned things around to go 4-2 up. However, Paolini encountered difficulties in her service games once more, and she went behind after losing the set on a tiebreak. The two-time Grand Slam finalist was more secure on serve after that, as she was not broken in set two or three, winning 6-7 (5) 6-2 6-3. 

They have played once before, with Paolini winning at the French Open in straight sets last year. She has not been close to her best at the start of this campaign, and a resurgent Tomljanovic could trouble her at times.
