RICHMOND

  • Richmond Tigers continued their magnificent run of form and laid down another marker to the rest of the competition as they secured a comfortable victory over Carlton Blues to make it seven wins in a row.
  • The Tigers have a top 4 spot well within their grasp now and if they win their remaining two matches, they will head into the finals with that position under their belt which could be crucial to their chances this season.
  • They have had to make one enforced change this week with Toby Nankervis out injured whilst Sydney Stack is omitted with Ivan Soldo called up along with Dustin Martin who is back from soreness.

WEST COAST EAGLES

  • West Coast Eagles made it five wins in a row as they defeated Adelaide Crows in an entertaining clash last week as they remained right in the hunt for the minor premiership with that victory.
  • The Eagles ended Round 21 level on points at the top of the ladder along with Geelong Cats and Brisbane Lions and now have the chance to go into second following the Lions’ win over the Cats on Saturday.
  • Following last week’s win, the Eagles have named an unchanged line-up with some of their young guns unable to force their way in whilst some of the side’s veterans like Chris Masten will also have to wait at least another week for somebody to underperform.

THE PREDICTION

This is a huge game between two teams in great form with Richmond Tigers and West Coast Eagles still having plenty at stake. The Tigers are chasing a top 4 spot whilst the Eagles are still in with a shout of the minor premiership but one of them will suffer heartache in this game. This is very tricky to call with both having plenty to like about them but it might be worth siding with the home side to get the job done and get themselves into the top 4.
