THE TEAM NEWS
ADELAIDE
- Adelaide Crows dropped out of the top 8 as they went down to West Coast Eagles in a tight affair last week and now face a difficult task of regaining their spot with just two games of the regular season remaining.
- First up they host Collingwood Magpies who will pose a considerable threat in what has become a must-win game for the Crows with plenty of other teams still in the hunt for the finals.
- Despite a decent performance last week, the Crows have made two changes to their line-up with Paul Seedsman and Reilly O’Brien coming in for Andy Otten and Rory Atkins who may feel unfortunate to miss out.
COLLINGWOOD
- Collingwood Magpies made it back-to-back wins as they held off Melbourne Demons last week to officially confirm their spot in the finals whilst also keeping their hopes of a top 4 place alive.
- The Magpies were fairly comfortably winners over the Demons and would have won by more had it not been for a late flurry of points by Melbourne when the game was already beyond them.
- John Noble produced an impressive display in the VFL last week and that was enough to earn him a call-up for the Magpies here as he replaces Josh Daicos who is left out due to concerns over a concussion he suffered last week.
THE PREDICTION
Adelaide Crows must win this to remain in contention for a spot in the finals after they dropped out of the top 8 following last week’s defeat to West Coast Eagles. The Crows must now win their last two to give themselves a solid chance of qualifying for the play-offs but face a tough test against Collingwood Magpies here. The Magpies were good last week to earn their second win in a row and with the top 4 still in their sights, they could seriously harm Adelaide’s hopes of prolonging their season.
