Varvara Gracheva enters the main draw of a grass tournament for the first time this year after wins in qualifying against Caroline Dolehide and Viktorija Golubic. She failed to do the same in Nottingham as she lost to Miami Open semi-finalist Alexandra Eala in the first stage of qualifying. Gracheva did make the quarter-finals at Bad Homburg in 2023 but has otherwise struggled on grass.
Camila Osorio was due to play on grass two weeks ago but withdrew before her match with Anastasija Sevastova took place at the Libema Open. Nevertheless, the Colombian seems fit and ready to make her return after last competing at the French Open, losing in the first-round to Arantxa Rus.
Osorio won their two previous matches, but they both occurred on clay, a surface the Colombian thrives on when compared to grass. Neither is in particularly strong form and we expect this one to go the distance.
