JJ Aldrich: The UFC veteran looks to build on a solid win in her last appearance

It’s hard to believe that JJ Aldrich (14-7) has been with the promotion for almost a decade, posting a 10-6 run across the course of nearly ten years under the UFC banner. The quintessential decisionater, Aldrich doesn’t excel in any one area of the game, but boasts a well-rounded skillset that typically carries her to victory over anybody who isn’t a cut above. She’s been in there with some of the better fighters in the female weight classes, sharing the cage with Maycee Barber, Tatiana Suarez, and Gillian Robertson throughout her time as a pro.

Jamey-Lyn Horth: Can the Canadian earn a big victory in front of a partisan crowd?

Entering her sixth fight with the promotion, Jamey-Lyn Horth (9-2) looks to build on the momentum of an impressive KO victory over Tereza Bleda in her most recent appearance. The Canadian has had mixed results since joining the promotion back in 2023; her stoppage over Bleda marked her first finish in the UFC, despite being signed riding a five fight finish streak. At 36, Horth is no spring chicken for the lighter weight classes, but still combines an impressive depth of experience with fight ending potential.

JJ Aldrich vs Jamey-Lyn Horth prediction

Spoiler alert, this is more than likely going to a decision.

Horth may have scored a KO in her most recent appearance but considering her run of decisions against fairly mediocre competition, don’t count on history repeating itself here. Aldrich has only ever been knocked out once in more than twenty fights as a pro and that setback came against Maycee Barber; one of the heavier hitters in WMMA history.

With that being said, Horth is still probably going to win this fight. While Aldrich arguably has the edge when it comes to high level experience, Horth is the bigger woman, seemingly hits harder, and has has looked more impressive of the two based on their recent form; from the outcome of the fights themselves to overall activity. She’s riding high on the momentum of an impressive performance last time out and will have the home town behind her to provide a boost and potentially sway the judges in the case of a tightly contested fight.

Aldrich will likely steal a round in the process, but Horth lands the bigger shots on a more consistent basis to walk away with the “W” on home soil.

Prediction: Jamey-Lyn Horth to win by decision
