Islam Dulatov: Part model, part killer, “The Ripper” has never needed the judges
Islam Dulatov (12-1) has finished every single one of his twelve professional wins, and only one of those opponents has ever heard the bell for round two. The 27-year-old is enormous for the division at 6’3” with a 75-inch reach, and he uses every inch of it firing a lightning right hand behind dynamic striking, strong kicks, knees to the body inside his combinations, and vicious elbows. He’s a real submission threat too, with more of his finishing coming by tap than knockout. He’s patient at range rather than reckless, and doesn’t empty the tank chasing the finish.
Wellington Turman: “The Prodigy” returns from two years in the wilderness
Wellington Turman (18-8) makes his first octagon walk since 2023, sitting 3-6 in the promotion on a three-fight skid. The Brazilian is a well-rounded operator, and a far better grappler than he is a striker, with eight subs on record. He fights with an upright stance, throws calf kicks at range and keeps his boxing combos tight behind a fairly quick jab. The problem is his durability. Turman has been badly hurt by fighters nowhere near as dangerous as Dulatov, and his defence too often amounts to leaning back with his hands pawed out – loose.

Turman has never beaten a high-level UFC fighter and has lost to men who weren’t cut out for the level either. Adam Fugitt, Dulatov’s last opponent is arguably even better than Turman, and he was gone inside the first round.
You could make the case that two years away has restored Turman’s chin, and there’s something in that, but a pawing, lean-back defence isn’t going to keep Dulatov’s combinations off him. It’s a mismatch on the feet.
His path does exist, and it runs through the mat. Turman needs to get Dulatov down and drag this into the back half of the fight, where he can find out whether the German has anything past the opening five minutes, because no one actually knows. That’s the genuine unknown here. If Turman survives into the third and starts working from top position or off his back, this could change it up.
I don’t think it’ll get to that though. Dulatov starts fast, picks his shots nicely, and is simply too big and too sharp for a fighter this hittable coming off a layoff this long. Turman hasn’t got the durability nor the x-factor to pose any issues early, and early is exactly where this ends. Islam’s a lock.
