Udinese preview: Steady Udinese

After back-to-back seasons of finishing in the middle-of-the-table, former Legia Warsaw manager Kosta Runjaic remains in charge of Udinese as they begin this season reasonably well.

The Friulians earned a goalless draw with a strong Como side in their opener before a thrilling 3-2 victory against Monza last weekend ahead of a 2-1 defeat of Venezia in the round of 32 of the Coppa Italia.

Lazio preview: Strong start

Over the summer, supporter protests have arisen again at Lazio due to the presidency of Aurelio Di Laurentiis, and yet, now under the management of Gennaro Gattuso, they have started the season well.

The Roman giants began the season well with a slender 1-0 defeat of Bologna before winning by the same scoreline against Genoa at the Stadio Olimpico with both winning goals being scored by summer signing Davide Frattesi.

Udinese team news: Nothing fresh

There are no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues for Udinese to deal with as both Alessandro Zanoli and Giorgi Chakvetadze work their way back to full fitness.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Okoye; Abankwah, Ebosse, Solet; Vojvoda, Karlstrom, Piotrowski, Kamara; Unai Gomez, Ekkelenkamp; Davis

Unavailable: Palma (Injured), Zaniolo (Injured)

Questionable: Zanoli (Injured), Chakvetadze (Injured)

Lazio team news: Several absentees

Lazio head to Udine with several confirmed injury absentees for this one such as fresh absentees Adam Marusic, Luca Pellegrini and Nicolo Rovella.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Mandas; Floriano Mussolini, Doekhi, Provstgaard, Tavares; Frattesi, Belahyane, Taylor; Cancellieri, Dia, Zaccagni

Unavailable: Furlanetto (Injured), Pellegrini (Injured), Dele-Bashiru (Injured), Rovella (Injured), Marusic (Injured), Cataldi (Injured)

Questionable: Patric (Injured)

Udinese vs Lazio prediction

Whether it be a siege or mentality or just being fairly fortunate to smash and grab against the run of play, not many would have expected Lazio to be on six points from their opening couple of Serie A games under Gattuso. Home advantage will likely see Udinese take the game to them and they are in better form than Lazio’s previous opponents and so siding with the hosts in the north east of Italy seems the way to go for this one.

Udinese vs Lazio tip: Double chance – Udinese to win or draw
