Troyes are expected to throw some punches back in the top-flight of French football as they take on the always chaotic Strasbourg to Stade de l’Aube.

Troyes preview: Steady start

A member of the City Football Group, Troyes gained promotion back to the top-flight last season before losing key attacker Mathis Detourbet to City, who was loaned out to Monaco – with Stephane Dumont left frustrated.

However, Dumont’s side have started the Ligue 1 campaign well with a steady goalless draw against Paris FC before they then won by two goals to one away at Lorient, courtesy of first half goals scored by Renaud Ripart and Lucas Maronnier.

Strasbourg preview: Chaotic off the pitch

A member of the BlueCo group, much to the chagrin of their supporters, Strasbourg have endured another chaotic summer off the pitch and an inconsistent start to the season – having begun with a 4-0 loss to Olympique de Marseille.

Strasbourg were strong for much of that defeat at Stade Velodrome before they then earned themselves a hard-fought 2-1 defeat of Lens at Stade de la Meinau last week, coming from behind with a second half brace scored by Gassime Yassine.

Troyes team news: Couple of absentees

Ahead of the visit of Strasbourg on Sunday, Troyes have a couple of confirmed injury absentees such as defender Yvann Titi and midfielder Ismael Boura.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Beach; Maronnier, Monfray, Diaz, Ouzenadji; Gomis, Diop, Picard; Ifnaoui, Ripart, Mille

Unavailable: Titi (Injured), Boura (Injured)

Questionable:

Strasbourg team news: El Mourabet suspended

Key midfielder Samir El Mourabet is missing through suspension for Strasbourg, while Argentine striker and last year’s top scorer Joaquin Panichelli is sidelined due to a knee injury sustained by March.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Jorgensen; Antwi, Hogsberg, Omobamidele, Mitchell; Sousa, Diop; Yassine, Reyna, Nanasi; Jacobo Ortega

Unavailable: El Mourabet (Suspended), Panichelli (Injured)

Questionable: Doukoure (Injured), Oyedele (Injured), Godo (Injured)

Troyes vs Strasbourg prediction

Troyes performed well to get themselves back in the top-flight and they will be expected to try and punch their way into the middle-of-the-table, rather than battle against relegation. Strasbourg head to Troyes with Hugo Oliveira getting his feet under the table after doing a brilliant job at Famalicao in Portugal. Both teams are upwardly mobile and so both teams scoring would seem a decent bet for this one.

Troyes vs Strasbourg tip: Both teams to score
