Troyes preview: Back in Ligue 1
A member of the City Football Group, Troyes' supporters have previously railed against the running of the club, especially after their relegation to the Championnat National in the 2022-23 season before earning a reprieve due to the demotion of Girondins de Bordeaux.
Last season saw them win Ligue 2 but, again, their relationship with CFG has taken a hit as key man Mathys Detourbet was swallowed up by Manchester City before being loaned out to Monaco instead of being able to stay at Troyes this season.
Paris preview: Big spending Parisians
Paris FC are one of the wealthiest clubs in world football and, after gaining promotion to the top-flight in the 2024-25 campaign, they spent heavily but perhaps underperformed, needing a mid-season managerial change to eventually secure a comfortable mid-table finish.
Antoine Kombouare, who had replaced Stephane Gilli in February, has himself now been replaced by Liam Rosenior, who is looking to rebuild his reputation after a woeful time of it at Chelsea, who he joined from fellow BlueCo-owned club Strasbourg in January.

Liam Rosenior has been blessed with more or less a fully fit and available squad ahead of the trip to Troyes, with the only concern being that of defender Emmanuel Mbemba.

Troyes vs Paris prediction
Rosenior has been given some hefty funds in the French capital city, with big money additions such as Patrick Zabi, Diego Coppola, Pablo Pagis, Lassine Sinayoko and Luca Koleosho. Troyes were dominant in Ligue 2 last season and should be confident on the opening day, while the Parisians themselves may well play a more proactive and possession-based style under Rosenior and so both teams scoring would appear a decent bet for this one.
