Tomas Machac vs Borna Gojo prediction

Tomas Machac won both of his qualifying matches at the Paris Masters last week, before a victory in the first-round against Kyrian Jacquet. He would then go on to lose Arthur Fils. Machac also pushed Alex de Minuar to three sets in Vienna. The Czech was a set and a break down, with De Minaur fighting back to win 1-6 6-4 6-3. Machac’s season began so impressively with his title run in Adelaide, but he has struggled with injury once more.

Borna Gojo enters the main draw as a qualifier. The Croatian defeated Mika Brunold and then overcame Nikoloz Basilashvili to secure his main draw place. He also beat Arthur Fery at the Lyon Open last month, before a loss to Daniel Altmaier. Gojo has won two titles on the Challenger Tour in 2026, but he remains outside the world’s top 130 in the rankings. 

Gojo’s serving power could make this a difficult match for Machac, especially if sets are decided by a handful of points.
