Tomas Martin Etcheverry will look to finish the season strongly after an encouraging showing at the Paris Masters. The Argentine was on a six-match losing streak before heading into the final Masters 1000 of the year, but he picked up two fine victories after defeating Andrey Rublev and Alex de Minaur. However, despite entering the match as the favourite, Etcheverry would lose to Rinky Hijikata in the round-of-16. 

Max Dahlin enters the main draw as a wild card, with the 20-year-old Swede ranked outside the world’s top 700. Dahlin reached the Bonn Challenger semi-finals in August, defeating Daniel Elahi Garcia before losing to Jamie Mackenzie. His most recent ATP main draw appearance came in Bastad during the summer, where he pushed Sebastian Baez to three sets in the opening round.
