Coco Gauff vs Jessica Pegula prediction

Coco Gauff will face-off with familiar foe Jessica Pegula first up at the 2026 WTA Finals.

The pair have met on ten previous occasions with the match-up tied at 5-5. 

Coco has won both meetings in 2026, including a 6-2 6-4 success in the Cincinnati final. 

This will be their fourth showdown at this event with JPeg leading 2-1 and prevailing 6-3 6-7 6-2 last year.

Coco’s victory was a year earlier en route to her lifting the title.

Historically, neither player has excelled in these conditions at Indian Wells and there is so little between them in terms of ranking, titles and match wins this year, that it is a tough one to call. 

Pegula has featured just once since the US Open so could be well-rested or simply undercooked, while her off-court controversy in recent days may play on her mind. 

We’d look at Gauff for this but possibly favour it going three or over 20.5 games.
