The 23-year-old won her maiden WTA title on clay at the Lausanne Ladies Open last summer and she should be considered a dark horse for a deep run after success at the Charleston Challenger in March.
World number 99 Zhuoxuan Bai beat Kayla Day in straight sets on Monday for a first win on clay at tour-level this season, snapping a three-match losing streak overall. The 21-year-old enjoyed an excellent boost to her ranking late last season on the ITF circuit but she has so far struggled to make a dent on the main tour. Back Cocciaretto to have too much experience in these conditions, with straight sets a reasonable risk.
