Kaitlin Quevedo maintained her flawless São Paulo streak with victory over Teodora Kostovic.
The Spaniard has yet to drop a set at the tournament after posting a 6-3 6-4 success over the Serbian teenager.
The seventh seed will now take on Anna Blinkova for a second time after the fourth seed overcame Alina Charaeva by a 6-4 7-5 scoreline.
It was Russian-born Blinkova, who has just switched allegiance to France, who came out on top 6-4 7-6 in their maiden meeting on clay in Madrid last year.
The world number 94 is also 11 places better off in the rankings but Quevedo is a stronger opponent 12 months on and has been excellent at this tournament, suggesting this could be a very tight affair.
