Peyton Stearns vs Iva Jovic prediction
Peyton Stearns advanced to her second tour-level final of the season after overcoming Liudmila Samsonova at the Guadalajara Open. Samsonova won the first three games of the match and served for the first set at 5-4, but Stearns fought back to win 7-6 (7) 6-2. The American won a title at the ATX Open earlier in the year.
She will take on second seed Iva Jovic in the final. The defending champion continued her progress at the tournament after beating Cristina Bucsa in straight sets. Jovic did have to save 11 of 12 break points, winning 6-4 6-1. Jovic is now unbeaten in eight matches at the Guadalajara Open.
Neither player has dropped a set so far this week, but Jovic is the clear favourite to come out on top. Stearns will have to massively improve upon her semi-final display if she is to have a chance against the teenager.
