THE PREDICTION

World number 25 Elina Svitolina looks set for an entertaining clash with defending champion Coco Gauff on Sunday after blasting past Marie Bouzkova 6-0 6-3. The former world number three returned from maternity leave with a vengeance last season, stunning the tennis world with a new brand of aggressive play that saw her beat world number one Iga Swiatek to reach the semi-finals at Wimbledon, and it will be fascinating to see what she can do in 2024. World number 71 Xiyu Wang has battled hard this week but a trio of three-set results suggests she is ready for a steep challenge here. The 22-year-old made a statement in beating her in-form compatriot, Xinyu Wang, on Tuesday and she came back from a set down to beat Diane Parry well on Friday. Svitolina, however, should have too much confidence to falter at this stage. Back the Ukrainian to win outright in a match likelier to see three sets than two.

TIP: ELINA SVITOLINA TO WIN
