Top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas should coast all the way to the title here in Antwerp but he will have to improve on his serving to do so after a not totally convincing straight-sets win over Botic van de Zandschulp on Thursday. The 25-year-old won the Los Cabos Open at the start of August but he has failed to win back-to-back matches on tour since as he continues to struggle with consistency, coaching issues, and a seemingly irreparable lack of his previous impenetrable confidence on court. World number 56 Yannick Hanfmann reached the semi-finals of the Mallorca Championships back in June after stunning Tsitsipas in three sets in the round of 16 but hardcourt conditions should see the Greek gain revenge. 31-year-old Hanfmann will be battle-hardened, though, after a three-set victory over former world number three Dominic Thiem on Thursday and he should receive the lion’s share of support as an underdog enjoying the form of his career in 2023. A one-off punt on Hanfmann to earn at least a set feels tempting but the sensible pick is backing Tsitsipas to win outright.
