This should be an entertaining clash of styles between world number 10 Jelena Ostapenko, who plays to shorten points as much as possible with her raw power, and in-form Sara Sorribes Tormo, who actively enjoys the grind of a baseline rally. 26-year-old Ostapenko got her Rome campaign underway well with a straight-sets victory over Anastasia Potapova but she has laboured for consistency ever since winning the Linz Open in early February, winning back-to-back matches just twice since.
