Defending champion Tatjana Maria is yet to drop a set this week in Bogota and she will put everything she has into this final as she pursues a potential third WTA title. The 35-year-old looked the reasonable favourite from the outset this week in a wide open draw at the Copa Colsanitas but up-and-comer Peyton Stearns has certainly earned her place in this final by ousting the tougher players, particularly Tamara Zidansek in the quarter-finals on Friday. 21-year-old Stearns will set a new career-high WTA world ranking of around 88th no matter the outcome here but she could rise as high as 70th with victory in this first final on tour. Back-to-back three-set victories for the American suggest she is ready for the fight but Maria will be the crowd’s favourite on Sunday as a 35-year-old veteran of the tour.
