World number 22 Nicolas Jarry looks the solid favourite to defend his Chile Open title on home soil this week, with a straight-sets opener over Federico Coria a solid start on Wednesday. The 28-year-old has enjoyed a transformative past 12 months on tour across all three surfaces but his rise started here in his native Santiago and it is hard to find a rival for him from the draw, other than perhaps second seed Sebastian Baez. World number 140 Corentin Moutet has spent almost 10 hours on court already this week, coming through qualifying before two lengthy three-set wins, but the Frenchman will be pleased to see some consistent fitness after a few disrupted seasons. Jarry beat Moutet in straight sets at the Halle Open last summer, their only tour-level encounter, and he has yet to drop a set in any of their matches. Back the Chilean to win in two.
