World number 40 Miomir Kecmanovic conceded just five games to Luca Nardi on Tuesday to get a promising Estoril Open campaign underway. The 23-year-old recently finished runner-up to Taylor Fritz at the Delray Beach Open on a hardcourt but clay remains his most natural surface, on which he won his only title to date at Kitzbuhel back in 2020. 23-year-old Jurij Rodionov set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 120th this week after some recent success on the Challenger circuit and he came back from a set down to stun former Estoril champion Albert Ramos-Vinolas on Tuesday. That result would set the Austrian as favourite against a few players left in the draw but Kecmanovic should prove too powerful the longer this match takes. Backing the Serb to win outright is a suitably cautious concession but Kecmanovic should be able to take this in two.
