World number 94 Marco Cecchinato played brilliantly to oust dark horse Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in straight sets on Friday and the Italian should not be underestimated on his favoured surface. Wins over ailing fellow veterans in Fabio Fognini and Diego Schwartzman in the first two rounds may have masked his level this week in Estoril but this looks set to be a real thriller on Saturday against new tournament favourite Miomir Kecmanovic. The world number 40 is yet to drop a set this week after ousting a tough clay specialist in Bernabe Zapata Miralles on Friday and the Serb looks like meaning business. Top seed Casper Ruud may look the favourite on paper this weekend but Kecmanovic only recently finished runner-up to Taylor Fritz in three sets at the Delray Beach Open and he looks more at home back on clay. Kecmanovic beat Cecchinato in straight sets at the Chile Open last year and he can be backed to reach the final as the outright winner here.
