THE PREDICTION

World number 135 Nuria Parrizas-Diaz overcame Magdalena Frech in three sets on Tuesday to snap a five-match losing streak at tour-level that stretches back to the Italian Open in May. The 32-year-old went back to the drawing board on the ITF circuit after a first round exit at the US Open and significant improvement there looks to have given her the foundations for another climb up the rankings. World number 171 Katarina Zavatska qualified well this weekend to make a rare main draw on tour and she beat Jessica Bouzas Maneiro in straight sets on Tuesday to bring some strong momentum into this clash. Parrizas-Diaz beat the Ukrainian in three tight sets off the tour on clay in Valencia last summer but this first tour-level match on a hardcourt levels the playing field a little. Back Parrizas-Diaz to earn at least a set as the likelier victor to leave the result up to chance but keep this match out of an accumulator.
