THE PREDICTION
This will be a fascinating battle on court between world number 13 Hubert Hurkacz and number 56 Jack Draper if their previous match is anything to by. 26-year-old Hurkacz only just put Draper away in the round of 16 at the European Open late last season and whilst neither player would profess to being comfortable on the clay yet the conditions certainly level the playing field as Hurkacz is markedly less effective here. The Pole came back from a set down to squeak past Laslo Djere in three tiebreaks on Sunday but Draper grabbed the more impressive result with a straight-sets victory over Sebastian Baez to suggest he is feeling confident in his ability after missing the Miami Open through injury. Draper is well capable of breaking the top 30 on tour this season if his body can hold up long enough to enjoy deep runs at this level but backing him to cause the upset here looks a reasonable call here outside of an accumulator. Otherwise, take this match to see at least one tiebreak between two fierce servers.
