World number 168 Elias Ymer became the Swedish number one earlier this summer when his younger brother Mikael suddenly announced his retirement after failing to appeal a lengthy ban. The 27-year-old wore that responsibility well on Monday with a straight-sets victory over the returning Roberto Bautista Agut but this should be a tougher challenge without the underdog card to hide behind as he takes on up-and-coming Croatian Dino Prizmic. 18-year-old Prizmic stunned sixth seed Jiri Lehecka in straight sets on Monday to build on some impressive work in qualifying and he will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of around 152nd for his efforts. The teenager has enjoyed an excellent 2023 off the tour and he is fast becoming too good to stay away. Home advantage favours Ymer, and the Stockholm organisers have given him the late match to boost his chances, but backing Prizmic to earn at least a set feels the most sensible way to avoid picking a winner here.
