World number seven Marketa Vondrousova was under pressure in her opening United Cup match after Jiri Lehecka let his lead slip against Zhizhen Zhang on Saturday, eventually losing to world number 15 Qinwen Zheng before a hammering by the Chinese pair in the doubles. Czechia can still qualify for the quarter-finals if they win all three matches against Serbia in straight sets but given that Lehecka faces world number one Novak Djokovic in the opening rubber that seems unlikely. Vondrousova will take on world number 121 Olga Danilovic for the first time here in what should be a relatively straightforward victory but, barring a shock result for Lehecka, she will have to tackle the disappointment of their failure to progress to the next round whilst facing a Serbian outfit that can still do so. The sensible pick is taking Vondrousova to win outright here but it could be worth a punt on Danilovic to snatch a set with momentum firmly behind her.
