THE PREDICTION

Group E is wide open with China in a tentative first place after their shock 3-0 victory over Czechia. World number 31 Jiri Lehecka took the first set against Zhizhen Zhang before falling away in defeat and that set the tone for the tie, with Marketa Vondrousova also just missing out against Qinwen Zheng. China’s 2-1 defeat to Serbia, via a deciding doubles tiebreak, will be tough to take for the leaders but the ramifications for Czechia are pretty tough as they take on a pumped Serbian team who know they need every win available. World number one Novak Djokovic used to come back from breaks a little sluggishly but the ever-perfecting tennis machine seems to have worked out that particular kink as he blasted past Zhang on Sunday before combining well with Olga Danilovic to edge the tie. A first meeting with Lehecka should be a tougher challenge in conditions that suit the young Czech but it has been some time since we’ve seen the 22-year-old at his best on tour. Back Djokovic to win this match in tight straight sets.

TIP: NOVAK DJOKOVIC TO WIN 2-0
