World number 67 Rebeka Masarova also came back from a set down to beat home hopeful Miriam Bulgaru on Wednesday, backing up a solid opener over up-and-comer Noma Akugue Noha. The 24-year-old stunned Maria Sakkari in the first round of the US Open in late August and this is her second quarter-final on tour since as she continues to enjoy her breakthrough season. Home advantage favours Bogdan here but the conditions probably better-suit Masarova. The Spaniard beat Bogdan in three tiebreaks in the first round of the US Open two years ago so consider a one-off on three sets here or back Bogdan to earn at least one.
