THE PREDICTION
This should be a fascinating battle between former world number two Alexander Zverev and world number 56 Alexander Bublik, both 25. The pair met in the Montpellier Open final last season in a match where we briefly saw the peak abilities of Alexander Bublik as he blasted through Zverev’s defences in straight sets to lift his maiden title. In fact, Bublik is yet to drop a set to Zverev in a 2-0 head-to-head record and he stands a fair chance at extending that here given the German is still not back to his best since returning from injury earlier this season. The current world number 16 was stunned in straight sets by Taro Daniel at the Miami Open last time out but a three-set defeat to Daniil Medvedev in the round of 16 at Indian Wells before that is proof of what he can do at this moment in time.
