ALEX DE MINAUR VS ALEX MICHELSEN PREDICTION
19-year-old Alex Michelsen can break inside the top 60 on Monday after an excellent run to the quarter-finals of the Geneva Open this week, where he stunned US number one Taylor Fritz in three sets for his best result yet on clay.
The youngster has not yet been on a tour a full 12 months but he has impressed consistently, now across all three surfaces, to look a serious rising talent and this is a really intriguing clash with world number 11 Alex de Minaur, whom he upset at the Los Cabos Open back in February.
25-year-old De Minaur bounced back from that defeat to defend his Mexico Open title a week later but the Aussie, who has himself thoroughly improved over the past two seasons, has struggled to make a proper dent on clay so far this swing. De Minaur should have enough over five sets to avoid an upset here but four or even five seem likely, so back Michelsen to earn at least one with some great momentum coming in.
