THE PREDICTION

26-year-old Alejandro Tabilo will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of around 38th after reaching his third semi-final of what has been a superb breakthrough season on tour. The Chilean came back from a set down to rising star Joao Fonseca in just over two hours on Friday, surviving a second--set tiebreak before turning the screw, to look a sudden contender for the title in Bucharest after winning his maiden ATP trophy in Auckland back in January and finishing runner-up at the Chile Open in February. World number 82 Marton Fucsovics caused the shock of the week when he stunned second seed Tallon Griekspoor in straight sets and he backed that up with an excellent comeback over Corentin Moutet on Friday. The Hungarian has impressed on clay so far, upsetting in-form Gael Monfils at Estoril two weeks ago, but back Tabilo to earn at least a set from this first encounter as the just-about likelier of two rather unlikely finalists.
