Kamilla Rakhimova vs Polina Kudermetova prediction
Kamilla Rakhimova returns to action after an impressive run to the third-round of the US Open. The 25-year-old upset two-time Grand Slam champion Barbora Krejcikova in straight sets before cruising past Oksana Selekhmeteva. Her campaign ended against world number one Aryna Sabalenka, though Rakhimova competed well and made the second set particularly competitive. Now ranked 76 in the world, she is the eighth seed.
Polina Kudermetova has not played a competitive match since the opening round of US Open qualifying, where she lost in straight sets to Linda Fruhvirtova. It was a poor serving performance from Kudermetova, who committed 12 double faults as she crashed out in the first stage. The 23-year-old is still ranked outside of the top 100.
Rakhimova leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a victory at a WTA 125 event in Paris three years ago. Following her results in New York, she will be the favourite to come out on top once again here.
