24-year-old Alejandro Tabilo spent much of 2021 on the Challenger Circuit, winning one of the three finals he reached in Ecuador back in November. The Chilean has plenty about him to break the top 100 at some point in the near future but this is a tough opening fixture for him against Spain’s tough second option Pablo Carreno Busta. The 30-year-old will make a fierce duo alongside Roberto Bautista Agut at the ATP Cup with fewer big-name stars in the draw and he won both of his Group Stage matches in straight sets last season to suggest what may take place. The first meeting between the two may throw up a closer-than-expected tussle, especially so early in the season, but PCB in two is the likeliest way this opener falls.
