Maria Sakkari raced past Linda Fruhvirtova to ease into the round of 16 in Singapore.

The Greek was in merciless mood as she claimed a 6-4 6-1 success over the Czech.

The seventh seed will now take on Nao Hibino after the Japanese edged Kristina Mladenovic 7-5 3-6 6-4. 

This will be their third meeting with Maria triumphing in straight sets at the 2020 and 2024 Australian Opens. 

This will be a big-ask for Nao and it depends on whether you feel the world number 190 can change that narrative in the match-up. 

We don’t see it with Sakkari’s recent level making her a decent bet to progress in two.
