Yeonwoo Ku vs Elena-Gabriela Ruse prediction

Yeonwoo Ku produced an impressive performance to reach the round-of-16 at the Korea Open, beating qualifier Alevtina Ibragimova 6-3 6-2. The Korean wildcard needed only 90 minutes to win the match. Her best results in 2026 have largely come on the ITF circuit. She reached the W100 final in Evansville in July.

Elena-Gabriela Ruse was also convincing in her first-round match, thrashing Eva Lys. The fourth seed dominated from the outset and converted six of her eight break point opportunities, winning 6-1 6-2. The Romanian returns to winning ways, having lost her last match in the first-round of the US Open to world number three Jessica Pegula.

Ku deserves respect after dropping only five games in her previous match, and will have home support for this one, but Ruse carries a significant advantage in established tour-level experience. She surrendered only three games against Lys and repeatedly attacked the German’s serve.
