Anna Bondar vs Alina Charaeva prediction

Anna Bondar recovered from a slow start to reach the next stage of the Korea Open, beating Renata Zarazua in three sets. The sixth seed won just two games in the opening set but increasingly took control of the contest, dropping only four games across the final two sets to win 2-6 6-3 6-1. Bondar also showed encouraging form at the US Open, beating Lucie Havlickova in the first-round and being within a point of defeating 2025 Australian Open champion Madison Keys. Her best WTA result of 2026 came in Hamburg, advancing to a third straight final at the event.

Alina Charaeva is her next opponent. She recovered to beat former Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin. Charaeva dug deep in the second set tiebreak and turned the match around to win 3-6 7-6 (4) 6-4 after two hours and 47 minutes. That followed a productive week in Sao Paulo, where she got through to the last eight. 

Bondar leads the head-to-head 1-0 after beating Charaeva in Hamburg two months ago. She will be the favourite, but Charaeva has won four of her last five matches overall.
