The world number 41 recently made the Vienna Open final on an indoor hardcourt like the one in Stockholm with stunning wins over Stefanos Tsitsipas, Diego Schwartzman and Jannik Sinner before defeat to Alexander Zverev.
The pair share a head-to-head record of 2-2 after Tiafoe levelled things up earlier this season in a three-set win at the Miami Masters. All four of their matches have come in hardcourts, including one win apiece indoors, so this looks a tight call in what should be a brilliant spectacle.
