World number 32 Carlos Alcaraz is the highest-ranked player at the Next Gen ATP Finals and the youngest at 18-year-old, just behind Holger Rune, which are two of the ingredients for a future world number one. The Spaniard beat his toughest foe in Group A, Brandon Nakashima, in straight sets on Thursday and he should be able to maintain a perfect record with another 3-0 win today in this first meeting with Juan Manuel Cerundolo. 19-year-old Cerundolo won his first ATP title on clay earlier this season at the Cordoba Open on home clay and the Argentine would be faring a lot better on his favoured surface. However, the hardcourts of Milan are favouring his opponents in this group more and with two four-set defeats to Nakashima and Rune so far seeing him out of contention Alcaraz is likely to find less fight here.
